Introduction :
The mathematics are usefull in a lot of areas like the new technologies. During the advanced of the mathematics and the science many things appeared and evolved with the time ( Informatics, télévision ...)
We will take the exemple of the architecture but before that we will speak a little about the history of the architecture.
The beginning of the architecture dates back to the antiquity :
- In Egypt where we can found the pyramids and the Temple
- In Greece where the mathematics evolved a lot and made the base of the modern mathematics. Thanks to the Greece we have the theorems of Pythagore and Thalès for exemple. The Greek created a lot of technical of construction and they made one of the first big monument like the Parthénon.
- In Italy where the Romans took example on the Greeks to made their bridges and houses.
During the middle age :
It was a lot of religious buildings like the cathedrals. There two majors different architectural styles
- Romans architecture since X century to the XII century
- Gothics architecture since XIII century to the XV century
And the mathematics were used to made the castle.
During the renaissance period :
During the XV to XVI centuries the geometry, the symmetry and the ratio evolved a lot in Italy and the France will take example on them to made their construction.
During the XVII to the XVIII centuries :
It was a big century for the architecture with a lot of changes. The architecture became more straight and
militarized. It was the century of the light and a lot of new kinds of construction like museum and schools.
During the XIX century :
A new style of architecture born : The neoclassicisme. He inspired the opera house, the theatre and especially the triumphal arch.
This century was marked by the appatition of new materials like steel, glass or concrete.
With the apparition of the train and industralization a lot of stations and factory was made.
From the XX century to our days :
The two world war made a lot of destruction and the countrys that have been it had to rebuild and they do it in a new style ( Like in Le Havre wich was rebuild in concrete ! ). We can also note the apparition of the skycrapers wich ask a lot of sophisticates materials and technical of construction.
So we have see a little the history of the architecture we will now speak about the Freedom Tower and The shard, it's two new buildings and we will try to answer at this question : " Wherein these two towers embody the revival ?".
